Hi Louise If you google Styal Workhouse or Quarry Bank Mill there's quite a bit of info about it. Quarry Bank Mill is open to the public as a visitor centre. I have been there and it is a very interesting place. Good luck with your research. Dianne xx |

Can anybody give any information on the residents of the Styal Workhouse, when it housed orphaned children? I now know it is a Ladies Prison, but I looking for my grandad and his twin brother who were housed there when they were kids. If anyone could help with any information I would be very grateful. Thank you. |
