Looking at 1881 census, you should be thinking of about 1871/2 for the marriage.........unless the eldest child was born before the wedding Reg |

Thanks Kath and Reg for that, its totally thrown me though cos all the cenus has Sarah Jane as the wife??? Have you found this before that things dont match? |

According to Ancestry the spouse in this marriage was either Elizabeth McCormick or Emma McLachlan, not a Sarah. Kath. x |

If you go back to where you found the info, and click on where it say s 'click to view others on page', you will see all the names on the page. None of them is a Sarah, by the way......... But check it out......so you will know how it works..........for next time! Reg |

I am trying to find the name of the person William Gilmour married in Dec 1874, I only know her name is Sarah but trying to find her maiden name, the ref is 8b 342, is there a way I can find out without buying marriage cert? There is no listing on the free sites. Regards |
