Julie, in case you didn't know before, 'submitted' information on the Mormon site should be treated with the greatest of caution. It means that a member of the church has sent in the information, and there is often no other information or evidence to back it up. It is not unknown for the church member to have made up names, dates and/or places to suit what he/she believes might have happened! It seems somewhat suspicious to me that the parish registers are shown on the batch numbers but the people are not apparently listed there. I hope that if you can see the registers yourself, or get someone trustworthy from on here to look for you, that you will find your ancestors .............................. ................... but until then, treat the information as very suspect. Hi Alice Hunt is my ancestor and did indeed marry Matthew Pottage. I was trying to work backwards to trace her parents and did use the Mormon site to find the other entries. Julie

Hi Julie, Did you get all the information on Edward and Mary, birth years, marriage date, and christening dates from their children from the Mormon site?? If so, did you notice that all the entries are 'submitted records' by a member of the Mormon Church, and therefore could be very suspicious??? I went to the IGI batch numbers site, and found Wheldrake, Yorkshire. It is possible to look at the entries extracted from parish records on this site, if they have been transcribed. There are no entries for a marriage between Edward Hunt and Mary Rudd at the time you indicate. There are Hunt and Rudd marriages, but different names, and not to each other. Nor had the christening records from the church apparently been transcribed. However, there was the following marriage, which seemed interesting ..... and this is an 'extracted record', which means it has been taken from the parish record:- ALICE HUNT Pedigree Female Family -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Event(s): Birth: Christening: Death: Burial: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriages: Spouse: MATTHEW POTTAGE Family Marriage: 29 AUG 1759 Wheldrake, Yorkshire, England -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Messages: Extracted marriage record for locality listed in the record. The source records are usually arranged chronologically by the marriage date. Sylvia (in Canada)

Hi Julie The parish registers for Wheldrake are held at the Borthwick Institute in York and not the East Yorkshire CRO, so unfortunately I can't help you as I don't get up there that often. Try altering the title of your thread or start another one asking if anyone's going to the Borthwick Good Luck Jeanette x

Hi I am trying to find out some information about Edward Hunt born c1708 Wheldrake, Yorkshire and Mary Rudd born c1712 Wheldrake, Yorkshire. They were married in Wheldrake 11/11/1733 and had 4 children all christened in Wheldrake, Elizabeth 2/11/1736, Mary 23/11/1739, Alice 23/11/1739 and Mary 18/7/1743. If anybody could find out some information about Edward and Mary's parents etc I would be very grateful. Thanks Julie
