Hi everyone, Thanks for helping. The one from Bolton is the right one , as are the details from the attestation papers. According to his papers he enlisted 29 July 1916 and his will of 18 aug 1916 recorded his wife as Emily Dickinson of Almonte, Ontario. In sept he embarked for UK. I presumed ...perhaps wrongly...that he must have married in Ontario. I don't have full access to Ancestry but had noticed that there were a couple of Joseph who might fit the bill. I had hoped to get lucky... Karen

The Dickinson/Dilworth marriage is for his parents... Hadn't found the passenger info but that looks to be mine..and therefore the marriage to Emily Heywood certainly looks promising .......... And not in Canada as i had imagined! Sorry to have put out all those that checked the Ontario database. Many thanks for everyones help, Karen
