Hi Kath, No, not for sure anyway, there is a Thomas Miller aged 47, Brother in Law, Lanchester Durham in the 1851 census. Unfortunately I can't find him on any other census either but he is on his son's marriage certificate in 1852 so I assume that he was still alive, I think it normally states 'Deceased' if that is the case. Not much help I'm afraid but I appreciated your help. Yvonne

Do you have him in a later census which would give a better idea of his birthplace? A lot of people in Northumberland at that time were non-conformist, so if this was the case with your man you won't find the baptism in parish records as non-conformist records are kept separately. I only know this because I spent a whole afternoon going through parish records looking for my husband's great grandfather, only to be told by the person at the record office two minutes before they closed that I had been looking in the wrong place. Please can you help me to find my Gt Gt Gt Grandfathers birth record/baptism. Thomas Miller B1802 - 1806 Northumberland. In the 1841 Census he is aged 35 but I understand ages were rounded down so he could have been anything from 35 to 39. I don't have any other information but I hope that someone can help me with this. Thanks, Yvonne
