Reg, Thanks for keeping looking.You're right for 1841. I've Thomas m Ann both born about 1801. Then a son? b 1821 living with them in 1841. Then the Stealy sisters and two more sons in 1851, and a grandson, Charles Mellor. I need the 1831 census!!! Cheers, Simon.

Reg, Thanks for that. I'll try and find a bit more info on the grandson Charles Mellor it might provide a clue as to how Stealeys fit into the Tarbrook line. Thanks for the lookup. Simon.

Hi all, I have the follwing from the 1851 census in the Swinton, Pendlebury area of Salford. Thomas Tarbrook 49 Mary Ann Tarbrook 40 Mary Stealey 14 (Daur) Ann Stealey 9 (Daur) Thomas Tarbrook 3 John Tarbrook 1 There were a couple of lodgers too. Can anyone find the either or both of the 'Stealey' girls in 1861? I don't think they will have the surname 'Tarbrook'. I'm not even sure they were the daughters of Thomas Tarbrook or even Mary Ann from a previous marriage as I think she was married to Thomas in 1841. Any help welcome! Thanks, Simon.
