Can some kind person do a look up on ancestry for me in the 1851 census for a Mary A Watson born appx 1839 in Essex, possibly in South Fambridge. A general search on ancestry brings up two possibles in Essex a Mary A Watson born 1841 and a Mary A S Watson born 1838. Many thanks Paul

Nothing springs to mind as she is listed in 1861 and 1871 as being born in Ashingdon and Fambridge, if I was guessing I would have gone for Barking. Thanks

Hi Maureen, only just seen your post added to my thread re Mary Ann (Maria). The nearest reference to a marriage i have is a marriage for a William Chittock and a Mary Ann Watson in OND 1856 in Rochford. I have the 1861 census,as Maria, but have been trying to confirm the marriage and earlier census details to tie the two together. The place of birth is the thing that throws it all into confusion, but I am assuming she may be just copying her spouses place of birth. Thanks paul
