My husbands great great great grandad was John Kirkbright born 1844 in Dalton le Dale, Durham. I have his wife and kids. Last child was born 1877, then the wife (Sarah)is listed as widdowed on the 1881 census...yet theres no death record for him. They had moved to Birmingham about 10 yrs earlier. Someone kindly got John on the 51 & 61 census for me as I couldnt find him (I do have him on the 71), and his parents were Edmund and Dorothy. Yet looking at marriages for Edmund Kirkbright around 1842 there aren't any Dorothy's! John was the eldest child. I'm literally going round in circles. Unless Dorothy and Edmund were a different family? |
