How can i find out births in Sydney in the late 1920's and 1930's? Is it possible? I have just found that my g.uncle moved there in 1920 and have found his marriage and death there but am hoping to find some children. Can anyone help?

Hi Hayley No, there will no more indexes to births published until 100 years have elapsed. By mistake, they released on microfiche, the births up to 1918, but only up to 1906 is on-line. I think they will release year by year from now on, but it will be a long wait. If you have a death registration number and year, his death certificate should tell you if there were any children of the marriage and their ages. If you are lucky, one will be the informant, and his/her address will be included. If it was before 1976, you can get a transcription of the certificate, for half the price of an official certificate. There's a page with the names of the three transcription agents on the NSW BDM website, just use their search box and put 'transcription agent'', the address is rather complicate. You can also search for deaths of children by putting in the surname and parents names, but if you are looking for living descendents, its not much help. Let me know if I can help. Di
