The Name of a Pub

I have a THOMAS INCE KERR b1836 Mansfield Nottinghmshire and died 2qu, 1864 in Selby.He was a landlord if a public house. Does anyone know how I can find out the name of the pub. He was not in the pub on the 1861 census Moira

If he was living in the pub when he died, the details should be on the death cert, as his 'place of residence'. Reg

Thankyou Reg. would there be any other way as I didn't realy want to order his death cert. as he is only my g.grandads brother and I cannot aford to order certs. unless they are direct. Moira

Hi Gary, I know he didn't get the pub until 1862 so thats why I knew he hadn't left Rotherham before that. Thanks Moira

Hi Moira Do you know the street name. If you do a search of that address in either an earlier or later census might reveal the pub name. Another option might be to look in trade directories of the time. Kate :)

As a matter of interest the Directory & Topography of Sheffield 1862 (Rotherham Directory) lists Thomas Kerr, Clerk, Alma Road. There's also a Joseph Kerr, agent to Mansfield Brewery Co at Ollerton.
