No I can't find her either in births or census, except on 1911 which i sent away for from National Archives and her Wedding certificate and on her sons birth certificate... and her death certificate she died one week after giving birth to her son. Her father Benjamin was supposed to be a Marine engineer perhaps thats why i can't find him. But surely she should be somewhere. arghhhhhhh! LOL.

Lorraine There are quite a few Emilys registered in Liverpool, but no Emily Dorothy. She may of course have added the second name later in life. You cannot look at the information anyway, without buying the cert, so it won't really help you even if anyone is going to the local RO. You seem quite definite about the birth year - where did you get this info from? How reliable is it? OC

Hi Roy, I can't buy the certificate as it is not registered at the GRO indexes so i'm trying to find the address of any register offices ect which would hold the records of births 1891 in Liverpool area.

The original copy is the one which is kept the area that it was registered in IE. my Nan was born in Wolverhampton and her birth was registered there. My Husbands Nan was registered somewhere in Liverpool so that will be where the original is kept. We apparently get a scanned copy of a transcipt when we send off to GRO at Southport. So i've read on here. Lorraine

What do you mean by 'original' records? All birth indices are on the GRO............and freely accessible on Ancestry Reg

It would depend on what part of Liverpool you are after, but the only way to find birth details is to buy the birth cert The Register Office, The Cotton Exchange, Old Hall Street, Liverpool, L3 9UF. Tel: 0151 233 3004. Fax: 0151 233 4944. Roy
