Hi Margaret yes I do think Williams age was wrong on his marriage certificate, but that does not explain why I can't find a death certificate for him and I have it narrowed down to a 2 year period. His last child was born in Jan.1889 as his birth certificate states his name and occupation. by the 1891 census he had died. His 2 daughters who married both state father deceased and his wife Emma remarries in 1893. Margaret

Do you think there was a mistake made on Williams marriage cert and his age was put down wrong?.. I have several certs (from gro) that are incorrect in name and sex including my grandmother given as sex boy Margaret

Sue I have the death certificate for William Brooks Poole but it is not him and I have hust found the William George Pooles on the census so that lets that one out as well Thanks Margaret

Yes Kathleen that could most likley be his father but I wonder where William was on any other census I can't find him anywhere I really do think William was a lot older than his given age on the 1881 census age 44 on that census was supposed to have been 24 in 1871 when he married Thankyou Margaret

Hello Julie so do you think he was not 14 as it says and was there no father as it does not say father deceased on his marriage certificate it says father George occupation weaver . and the name could be Pool without the e as I found his 2 daughters birth certificates without the E thank you Margaret

Hi I have this family in the 1881 census I have their marriage certificate they married in Haverhill in 1871 Williams fathers name was George and the marraige certificate says he was 24.........................................................at yet on the 1881 census it says he is 44 they moved to Edmonton after they married as the 2 daughters were both born Haverhill they also married after the 1871 census in the Nov. I cannot find William in any other census and he had died by the 1891 census as Emma his wife was a widow and ahe remarried in 1893.
