Hi all I am trying to confirm where John Bennett and Sarah Sales were born and hopefully also married. In the 1841 cenus it says the whole household was born in Oxfordshire, but I am pretty sure this is not the case, was wondering if someone could look them up in 1851 cenus, as John dies 1856, in Great Rollright, Oxfordshire, but Sarah not until 1870. Thank you very much Reggie and June, so neither of them were from Oxfordshire, any ideas where I may therefore find their marriage. First child I have is William Bennett christened 02/01/1820 in Great Rollright, Oxfordshire. It is true that marriages used to generally take place at the woman's home town, so Alderminster is the correct location then, and time span is correct also. Joanna

Thank you all, it is definitely the correct marriage as I have just gone on familyhistoryonline and it confirms that John Bennett was from Wolford, Warwickshire, and Sarah Trindles, Alderminster. I think I got myself so bogged down by the fact that I had been told that it was Sarah Sales, that I closed my options.
