I wondered about Emma being 9 years older than William so checked the 1851 census. I believe this is them? 1851 census St. Pancras, London William Giles, head, 30, shoemaker Emma, wife, 32, shoe binder James, son, 11, sewer Edward L., son, 8, scholar Ann, dau, 6, scholar Elizabeth, dau, 4, scholar All born Ipswich, Suffolk

and possibly same family in 1841 Ellen Giles abt 1837 Suffolk, England St Mary At The Quay Suffolk Emma Giles abt 1821 Suffolk, England St Mary At The Quay Suffolk James Giles abt 1840 Suffolk, England St Mary At The Quay Suffolk but no William listed.

If you get the birth certificate of one of her children, it will give her maiden name. Have you found the family on the census - if so can you give a reference

I am trying to find the maiden name of Emma Giles born 1812 she was married to William Giles born 1821, she was a shoe binder he was a shoe maker. They lived in St pancreas London had 4 children ??. my great great grandmother Elizabeth Giles born1847 was one of the children. I believe Emma was born in Ipswich Suffolk Patricia
