Hi guys, has anyone got a birth record from 1855? I bought one from scotlands people, and it is different from the other records - Under the 'Father' section, it says 'Issue, Living and Deceased' Under father in mine it says 4 boys living, 2 girls living, 4 boys dead - does this mean that they have had 10 children and 4 died???? I'm unsure as i've never seen a certificate like this Thanks, Pamela xxx

David because registration only began in 1855 in Scotland the first year of registration gives a lot more info than other years, they soon got wise and reduced the info on certificates from 1856. Georgina.

I love 1855 certs :) and severely dislike 1856/57 certs where you dont even get the name of the person they where married/widowed to! Though you do get where they are buried which is a bonus :) Mhairi
