Not every one is in free bmd is that true?

I have been through the whole bmd and written down every Ives born in Bedford but I have some that don't apear in it why is this?

Depends if you are talking about the freebmd or whether you are talking about the completed full index where you have to search quarter by quarter. Freebmd is not fully transcribed yet, before 1984 after then it is to 2005. With the full completed bmd index is also completely free to view but before whether our ancesters registered their children or themselves is another thing. Nicola

Free bmds isnt complete. In fact I have found even the complete bmds are sometimes missing or mistranscribed.

Hi Paul. If you go to the main page ... Click Home page Click General info Click Coverage charts This will tell you what percentage of each year are transcribed. Hope this will help. Malcolm.

No set of records about anything, anywhere, can ever be said to be 100% accurate and complete. Mistakes are made, people get missed off, or never bothered to register anyway. You just have to use all the available resources you can find. OC
