Find Ancestors

....I'm so frustrated. I have the good fortune to have several photo's of my GG Aunt Ethel Louise MILSTED. She was born in 1889 in Botely in Oxfordshire. The photo's are dated around the 1st world war in Oxfordshire at a rough guess 1916 -1920 no later than 1920. With her is a husband....WILFRED and a son WILSON( looks about 15 but could be tall for his age ) . I can NOT find a marriage for Ethel...........either using her middle name or spelling the name MILSTEAD which has happened in the past. I'm guessing she'd not have wed outside Oxfordshire but I could be wrong.....is anyone willing to help me trawl through the GRO Index pls? I've been through that many times it's so not funny anymore!! .............. In anticipation I thank you so much -x-

Sadly not.......... that's why this is frustrating. To have a photo of them and no family name other her maiden name is doing my head in :(((

Is her name definitely Ethel? It's just that there is a marriage for an Emily L. Milsted listed in the March qtr. of 1911 but it's in Devon:- Emily L. Milsted Mar. qtr. 1911, E.Stonehouse, 5b, 475 I just thought that that would be about the time she might get married. UPDATE - just looked at the other replies. Looks like she's definitely an Ethel. have you tried looking for the son first? Maybe then you can roughly work out the date they married and then search Nicola

The Emily come Ethel in Devon is the closest to be found - so will give this lots of attention Thank you Vera........ thank you so much for your offer but with out wanting to appear rude or ungrateful there is much to goon now with the leads that the thread has generated I feel something may well be found . Scarlett - Banbury & Headington , particularly the last district , are very very good leads and food for thought thank you I will work on these and keep you all posted as to where it leads me......... Hi Nicola It would be pure guess work for the son as I don't have Ethel's married name . Free bmd is the best way forward as i can type in sons first name and mothers maiden name and get a match this way....... but there isn't one as it's in complete. Hi Vera Yeah I have the certificates for her sisters - Florence the eldest is my Grt Granny. I have Annie's & after the 1901 census came Errol Daisy MILSTED I have hers and I have Vera's who married in 1921 in New Zeland..........just need to find Ethel and then later their brother Henry aka Harry Milsted.
