Hi Gillian All I know that Samuel George Parker was born France British Subject 1839. I have found a marriage of a William Ricketts Parker and Anna Maria Taylor in Paris 1836 and children from that marriage being born Bologne Sur Mer Pas de Calais. No where can I find a Samuel on any site except when he returned to England and married so I just don't know who his parents might be. Any help would be appreciated John |

Do you know where he was born in France? If so you can get his 'Acte de Naissance' from the local Mairie. Gillian |

Thanks Nicola I will try those sites. As I am unable to find a birth cert for Samuel George Parker I seem to have come to a halt on his line. |

While searching, this paragraph was taken from this site: http://www(.)genealogy(.)com/rhonda091699(.)html Europe France The earliest census taken in France was in 1772. Those taken from 1795 to 1836 are statistical censuses and do not include any names of individuals. From 1836 to 1936, France has had a national census every five years, except in 1871 (when it was taken in 1872) and in 1916 (when it wasn't taken at all). Unfortunately, unlike census records of other countries where these records have been microfilmed and indexed, no such activities have taken place on behalf of the French census. Nicola |
