Member Since: July 2004 Posts: 603 Send Message	Hi, I have traced my decendant james chater from birth to 1861 when he was in the Royal Artillery Regiment in Portsmouth. He was born in 1836c in Tynemoth Northumberland. Can anyone help. Thanks Kathy

	HI Kathleen, I have looked, sorry with no luck. Maybe on the 1871 census he could have been abroad. Have you checked for deaths....I know a bit difficult, because you wouldn't know where he died. Regards Vera
