Which George is he....Where was he living in 1901 ? Gwyn

Hi I have found George Beaumont on the 1901 census with his birthplace as Lincolnshire. On the 1891 census his birthplace is Northampton. On the 1881 census it is Harley, Nottingham. I need to narrow it down so that I can order his birth cert as on each census he was born somewhere between 1843 & 1848. Thanks for looking Lorraine

Do you know Elizabeth's maiden name? If not, it might be wise to buy a copy of John E's birth certificate and use the information to buy the marriage cert for George and Elizabeth. Hopefully this would show George's father's name and this might help to find a young George with his family in 1851 and so narrow down his birthplace. Gwyn

Hi Gwyneth Elizabeth's maiden name is Harris, I have their son William's birth cert. I know that they were married in East Stonehouse, Devon in 1870. Thank you all for the help you have given me so far. Lorraine

Your welcome Lorraine, I think the only sure way to find his birth place is to get the marriage certificate & see who his father was, lets hope he wasn't illigitimate. Georgina.

Thank you for looking that up for me Georgina, it now gives me something to go on as there are so many George Beaumonts listed between 1843 & 1848, I thought someone else might have a clearer picture than me as I have been looking at George Beaumonts for ages trying to work this out & I have looked for so long at this name that I was getting confused. Could this be him? Found on BIVRI: BEAUMONT, George Christening Gender: Male Christening Date: 1 Oct 1843 Recorded in: North Clifton, Nottinghamshire, England Collection: BTs Father: Thomas BEAUMONT Mother: Elisabeth Source: FHL Film 504061 Dates: 1840 - 1843 There's no births at the right time in the other two counties, and they have children with the same names as the parents.
