Thanks for the advice. Looking on the OPC site it seems that the records for the years I need just don't exist any more - isn't that typical!? I shall contact Lewes Records Office to double check. Lizzie |

Registers are probably at Lewes Record Office. They have a card index of baptisms so it would be fairly simple for someone to check the cards then verify the information in the Herstmonceaux registers. Gwyn |

Does anyone out there have parish records for Herstmonceaux? I'm looking for the christening of John Smith c1805/6. Until I find his parents, I'm staring at a brick wall! Thanks Lizzie |
