I have been looking for a marriage for my great-grand parents a John Edwin Barnes and Lizzie (Elizabeth??) Daniels.............I have found this as a possible, but the page numbers in the index don't quite match up.......could they be wrong in the registers or is this highly unlikely any thoughts or help much appreciated as always.................. Name: John Edwin Barnes Year of Registration: 1903 Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep DISTRICT: Lewisham County: Greater London, Kent, London Volume: 1d Page: 2112 Name: Alice Elizabeth Daniels Year of Registration: 1903 Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep DISTRICT: Lewisham County: Greater London, Kent, London Volume: 1d Page: 2192

If you are sure you have the 2 correct names I would write to Lewisham Registry office and ask them.

well on FreeBMD theres two couples so that ties up . John Edwin seems to married either Charlotte Crowdy or Annie Friend Keech. How sure are you of the names / when was the first child born . that cert will confirm both names if you havent already got it.

I haven't got the first child cert.the one I have is for 1911 so there's a big gap there to 1903, it is possible of course that John Edwin married more than once. The cert I have states the mother as Lizzie Daniels...........nearest match i can find is the Alice Elizabeth Daniels

well I dont think thats the right match because again on FreeBMD theres only two people listed for that ref Marriages Sep 1903 (>99%) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daniels Alice Elizabeth Lewisham 1d 2192 FRANCIS Thomas Lewisham 1d 2192 So seems shes not the one marrying John Edwin then. possibilty tho that they got together later. I know my paternal gran had two children by her 2nd hubby before they wed, He registered both births as if they were married but I found the marriage some 3 years later. Are you aware of any older children

I've nudged the poster's other thread about this man. He wasn't born until 1890, so is unlikely to have married in 1903 Reg
