Hi again ... Not that I wish to be unhelpful, but you would probably be better having a look at this for yourself. Go to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb*com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/CountryEngland.htm#PageTitle (substitute . for *!) > Yorkshire > 'E' > Egerton. Click on the relevant ref. no. for baptisms/marriages. On the page that comes up, enter surname in the top righthand box and click 'Submit Query'. This will bring up all those baptisms/marriages for that surname in your selected parish. Hope this is clear - let me know if you need any further help. Penny

Ok thanks Penny. This puts a cat among the pigeons. Im silly as i don't write down where i get info from so im wondering whats going on now ?? I have a John Fletcher born 1762 who is the son of the George and Ann that i have. Can i ask you if you would mind seeing what info there is for John's birth and any other siblings as i must have got false information from somewhere? Hope you can help me. Hi Ross ... I've searched the Ancestry Parish and Probate Records for Yorkshire for your George, but no luck. However, the Egton PRs are included on the IGI. There seems to be no record of George's baptism c1735, but there is a John (not George) FLETCHER marrying Ann DAVISON at Egton on 01 MAY 1744 (extracted record). Does this help?!?!? Penny

Hello, The furthest i have been able to get back with my surname 'Fletcher' is to George Fletcher born c 1735 Egton, Yorkshire. I wondered if you could have a look for me in the Parish Probate records to see if there are any records for a George Fletcher's birth or baptism, or his marriage to Ann Davison in May 1744, Egton. I would very much appreciate the help as this is my direct male line. Hope you are able to assist me. Many Thanks. Ross Fletcher
