Claire It wasn't where they were in 1851.......the uncertainty in finding them would have been due to the mistranscription. If names are mistranscribed, it is easier to trace them if you say so........... Hope you don't mind my mentioning this.......... Reg

Sorry Claire, Can't see them in 1861. I do know there are quite a few places missing from the 1861 census, there's a thread about it on Tips, I'll nudge it up for you. Angela

Hi all. I have been searching the 61 census for my ancestors, Henry and Maria Beresford with no luck and wondered if anyone would provide a 2nd pair of eyes to see if could spot them. Both born 1820c, Henry in Loscoe, Derbyshire and Maria in Heanor, Derbyshire. On the 51 they were with children Ann (think age is wrong), Elizabeth, Henry and Samuel. I have found who i think is Henry on the 71 census with a new wife, Harriet and they are with Henry and Samuel. I have found a death registration in 1862, Basford Dist, for Maria Beresford so they should be on this census. Any help, greatly appreciated. Claire
