Not sure where it may originate, but it sounds as though it may be either Belgian or Dutch. Try googling....always the best first option. Reg

Hi found this name on 1871 census Honbrich. C. VERHOEFF abt 1822 Holland, Caturalizey living in Aldershot Hampshire Thought it might help. Val
