thanks for trying Margaret. Yes always the way. The two surnames don't help. I have been on Ancestry trying to trace the others. I have found some but can't tell yet whether they are 'mine'. I'll keep trying. There must be a way even if I have to go to Brighton!!

Sorry, Julie, I just can't find the one you're looking for. Isn't that usually the case? Margaret

This is rather confusing, Julie, I'll leave it to you to sort them out. These are christenings in Brighton, Sussex: Thomas Wood or Dine, 27 Jan.1760. Parents John Wood or Dine & Anne. Thomas Dine or Wood, 23 May 1786. Parents Thomas Dine or Wood & Mary. Thomas Wood or Dine, born 5 Apr.1788, christened 8 Jan.1792. Parents John Wood or Dine & Ann. Thomas Wood or Dine, 30 Jan. 1788. Parents Thomas Wood or Dine & Mary. Thomas Wood Dine, 20 Jun. 1830. Parents Thomas Wood Dine & Mary Ann. They're all christening dates except for the one noted as birthdate.

An even bigger THANK YOU Margaret. I'll keep those other two Thomas Wood or Dine and see if I can connect them further along! I guess looking for my Thomas baptism is the next step!! To see if it has his mothers name. I am so pleased to get this information and so fast. Thanks so much Julie

I am trying to get a generation back with my DINE family. I have a Thomas Wood Dine marrying Ellen Welch August 1838 at St Nicholas Church Brighton. I would love to know Thomas' parents names. I know he was born about 1816 (from 1841 census) in Brighton. Can anyone help please? Regards Julie
