Hi Julie If you don't get any offers of help on here you could try the Devon Family History Society (google it) web-site they have a message board on there and the People are very helpful. Regards Jill

If no one is able to go to Plymouth record office for you, you can always order parish records on microfilm from your nearest LDS Family History centre who only charge a couple of pounds and will keep them for about a month to give you time to view them. Addresses of Family History Centres can be found on www.familysearch.org Kath. x

Have you tried the IGI (www*familysearch*org)replace asterisks with dots- there are a few Pearse and Tremaine entries for St Austell around 1780-1784-worth looking at.

I am in need of some help please!! You see I have got my family back to 1804 living in Stoke Dameral (Devonport) (confermed) and would love to go further back. Unfortunatly they are only on parish records and I am 400 miles away. Is there anybody out there going to Plymouth records office that would be so kind as to help me. My 1781 connections are JAMES PEARSE and MARY TREMAINE. I have their death certs and their marriage listing but not the father's names, area or family. They where married 09/05/1802 in Stoke Dameral and that's as far as I have got. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!! Julie Hill (PEARSE)
