Find Ancestors

I have a James Henry Hewitt B1840 Thanet (Margate) Kent. He is married to an Hannah Shingleton (Shingleston) B1841 Blean, Kent. I am back tracking here as I would like to know whom his parents are and more about the family. I have an 1881 Census with Hewett's (e) living at Magdala Road, St Peters. Kent with their family of nine children. James is listed as general labourer and is deaf. There children are all born in Kent even though different areas, and here are some of their names which might help. Caroline E B1866 - Sarah Ann B1868 - William Stephen B1869. Maybe an 1871 Census might be a start do you think and work back but whatever you can find out will be appreciated. Any help will be appreciated. Julia

Hi Julia, On 1871 there are a few older children with them; Hannah born 1863 and james William born 1865. There is a possible on 1851 for your James Henry with parents William 1817 Margate and Mary 1829 St Nicholas. James H 1841 Alfred W 1844 Sarah A 1846 Ann E 1848 Mary E 1850. Possible birth reg for James Henry in oct qtr 1840 Thanet Kent vol 5 page 428.

Hi Jane, You couldn't download me the full 1851 & 1871 Census could you please so that I can check it all out. I have checked. I have a different birth for James Henry. Oct/Dec Thanet V 420. so I have a different to one to what you have down. Thanks Julia
