Shirley were they married on the 1841 census? I wondered if this was their marriage? Hi Shirley, On the IGI.... Pembroke comes under counties( they mean Pembrokeshire).....these are the places the John Bowens were Christened.. Brawdy, Saint Davids Fishguard Newport Penrhydd Llanfyrnach Prendergast Hope this helps. Regards Vera

for the people in them days the town of pembroke would have been closer than haverfordwest, llangwm just across the water from pembroke, haverfordwest would have been seven miles by horse.

vera hun maybe in the old days it was PEMBROKE cos pembroke is just across the haven (milford haven is the waterway) but milford came under haverfordwest thank you

Hi Shirley, On the IGI there are eight John Bowens listed, born between 1815/1819 no other dates in Pembroke...but not the place name you gave, maybe the registration district is different. Have a look and see what you think. Regards Vera

JOHN BOWEN BORN 1817 IN SPELT TODAY LLANGWM BUT IN THE OLD DAYS WAS SPELT LANGWM, COUNTY OF PEMBROKESHIRE, DONT KNOW HIS PARENTS BUT HIS WIFE IS MARTHA , I HAVE THEM FROM 1841 ON THANKS SHIRL
