there are 154 results with that name and durham. any idea on a b yr? way too many to open to see what jobs they did,

can anyone help me please, i need a look up for 1901 but all the info i have is name, occupation and place of residence! james white brickmaker brasside, co.durham he had an illegitimate daughter ( my grandmother) with frances ferry. if anyone can find anything that looks like a possible match that would be great! or any other ideas on how to find this man would be gratefully recieved! thank you ! jenny

hi thanks i know its like looking for needle in a haystack, he was my g.grandfather so i can only go by g.grandmothers age she was born in 1875 so somewhere around that might narrow it down a bit! thanks! jenny

Did you get the info from a marriage cert? If so, what was the name and occupation of his father? When did the marriage occur? How old was he at the time? Reg

no my g grandparents were never married, my grandmother was illegitimate, the info came from a baptism record.

frances ferry, she is on 1901 census with her husband william shanks and she is listed as francis shanks, with daugters maggie and martha.

frances ferry was the woman that he had my grandmother with! and i know she married somene else, i dont know if james white was married or not! have very little to go on!
