I Have 2 birth certs 16/10/1849 Catherine Ward ( No father given) Mother Susan Smith 16/02/1851 Edward , Father Edward Ward Mother Susan Ward formerley Smith. These 2 children plus later ones are on the various census's with Edward and Susan(nah) Regards Margaret

She may not have been SMITH when she married Edward. She may have been a widow. I chased after a marriage for ages only to find eventually that the bride had married TWICE before. Gwyn

Thanks for the input folks...Edward Ward was on the 1851 census with 'Susan' in Coventry. They are there again in 1861 but back to 'Susannah' again They move on to Birmingham for the 1871/81/91....so assuming that they DID indeed marry around 1850 I am still chasing their marriage.... Found a Edward Ward b 1811 Woolwich with wife Susannah b 1823 in Walworth living in Camberwell on the 1851 but they have children and the eldest is 10.

Hi, She is transcribed as Susanna and there are no edward ward marriages in that 16 475. Have you found them on the 1851

Hello there, I have found a marriage on Ancestry that I hope is of interest to my research... Susannah Smith 2nd Qtr 1850. Coventry. 16 475. Now I was hoping to find that Susannah had married Edward Ward.....no luck on finding that there is a match here at all.. can someone please help me find out if there is a connection here at all ???? i cant see a susannah smith in marriage index in coventry 1850... are my eyes going?
