What is the person's name? We might find another sibling on the same page of the index. Gwyn

If you have the details someone could look up on Ancestory and see who else was registered on that same page so if they were a twin the other birth may well be shown. (I think thats how it works anyway)

Jackie On FreeBMD, if you enter the surname, select sep qtr, 1852 to sep qtr 1852, and select Cleobury Mortimer in Districts list this will bring up all births for that surname. If any two have the same or adjacent page nos, they could be twins. Only way to be sure would he to send for the certs Pam

Hi Jackie, Can't speak for all workhouses but I've an ancestor born in Plomesgate Union Workhouse in 1851 and it has no time of birth on it, just the date. Best wishes Liz

Whether or not times were recorded for single births seems to have depended on the whim of the individual Registrar. If you could post details of the cert. I'm sure someone will help you to discover whether or not they are likely to have been a twin. Gwyn
