BRAME family 1861 & 1871 Suffolk/Norfolk

Jim, The BRAME family are important to my paternal Grandfather - he was orphaned and left Norfolk as a 10-year old. His Aunt Hannah SANDY married Edwin BRAME (son of Rachel & John) and they farmed at Darrow Wood, Diss. The BRAMEs and their circle remained in contact with my Grandfather with visits hither-and-thither, as the postcards prove. In themselves, the cards tell a wonderful story about our history as seen through the eyes of the various writers - not just family anecdotes. Any thoughts you are able to share would be most gratefully received. Kind regards Annie

Right then Jim, I have a postcard collection from the early 1900s which I'm cataloguing. A regular correspondent is 'Gladys' who lives in Hounslow. She calls Rachel BRAME senior (ie by then, widow of John) 'Granny' and refers to various fellow grandchildren as 'Cousin'. She is Gladys THOMPSON, she has a sister called Nellie, little brother called Arthur. Their father was H A THOMPSON, who I think was actually Arthur Henry THOMPSON. In 1901, he seems to be a widow. I can find absolutely NO reason why this family is related to my Norfolk/Suffolk BRAMEs. Any ideas? Regs Annie

Jim, Thanks for 1901 too - I'd just looked at it. BUT where did you get 'Doris' from - Eustace's wife looked like 'Rosa' to me. Seems like they married in 1891 - she was Annie Rosina STANNARD. It's still not getting me any closer to solving my mystery. I'll tell you about it - give me a mo'. Annie

Jim, You've done it! You've found my missing link ... well, I hope he is. Good old Eustace ... that name continued on in the next generation and I thought it was a bit odd, just appearing like that. Now, onward ... I have to prove that Eustace had children now! Thank you so much for taking the time to do the lookups for me - I really appreciate it. Regs Annie

Jim, Thanks for 1861 - so, no extra kids ... but a servant ... gosh, didn't realise they could afford one, they were humble farmers. Regs Annie
