I have been trying to find a marriage for William Watson c1821 and Sarah Stevens c1827 both from Lambeth Surrey. I believe they married in Lambeth. I would be grateful for anyhelp just seem to be going round in circles,Thankyou.

The 1841 census has a William Watson and Sarah living on White Horse St., Lambeth, Surrey. He's a butcher, she a shoe binder. Problem is age for both is 20. Update, scratch that, just checked 1851, he's an engine driver.

Margaret I saw that one and wasn't sure cos of age, also there is a Sarah Stevens in Lambeth age 16 with Parents. Just have to wait for Sheila to come back Julie

William was a engine driver. I have the birth certificates of their sons William and Edward giving their parents names as William Watson and Sarah Watson nee Stevens. both were born at 1 Simpson St,Lambeth.Thanks for looking.

I think the one I found in 1841 is the one that Sophie found the marriage for and they're not yours. Another one on the 1841 census is a William Watson aged 15, so he could be between 15-19. he's living on Bond St., Vauxhall, Lambeth, a couple of doors away from where Sarah Stevens is living. They're on the same page. It says that William is not born in county. Margaret

There were rumours he could have been born in Kent. The bond st,Vauxhall address could be also right.He could have had the middle names of Allen Tapper or Topper. thankyou for helping.

I've looked through the qtrs from 1841 to 44 and couldn't find anything

There's a marriage on FreeBMD of a William Allen Topper WATSON . The only Sarah in the list is a Sarah WILLIAMS. Date is Sep Q 1850 - Lambeth - 4/284. Jill

I tried searching for Mary Ann - no surname - born Lambeth between 1843 and 1845. There were several Mary Ann Williams' - none by the name of Watson or Stevens. Not sure if this is much help at the moment. Jill

Thank you to everyone for your help,Sarah Died young ,I have William b1851 and Edwards birth certificate and she is on the sertifiacte as their mother - Sarsh Stevens maiden name Watson, She is the one reportly on these certificates as the one who reigistered them. It is a mystery to try and unravel.
