.. am thinking the marriage date should be 29/4/ 1865.. think my handwriting is lousy ! Oddly husband number 2 was in jail on the 1871 census ..... wonder if there is a connection there.... Children... Christiana b 1865 George b 1869 She then had a baby to second husband, just before she remarried in 1873.

Just going by my experience Sue he may not have died....have you looked for him in other areas. My 3 x gt grandfather who I thought had died was alive and well in a another corner of England remarried and had another family. On his marriage cert he was a widower....my 3x gt grandmother was also alive and well and had also remarried. On her marriage cert it said she was a widow lol. Just a thought, Linda

William Hepplestone.... he married Mary Fletcher in 1863.Batley. There youngest child was born in 1869. On the 1871 census she states she is married.. no trace of William though. In 1873 she had a child by another man... she remarried [to him] in 1873... m cert states she was a widow. BUT no trace of the death of William ! Am totally lost on this one ! Sue
