G'day Kerrie. For some reason these boards (GR) don't allow you to use paragraphs in your initial posting. What we usually do is type it all out beforehand on something like Notepad & just put 'see below' in the initial message. Then immediately we add a reply & put in our message. It's a little bit harder doing family history from Oz but the internet has made it a lot easier & is getting better every day. This is a wonderful site & the members are so helpful & friendly. Thankyou to everyone for replying. Thankyou Sylvia for making it readable. When i typed it out it looked somewhat like what you did, but i didn't know how to fix it up once i posted it. I will be sending away for the marriage certificate straight away. I guess i was under the assumption that they were married before children or that proper names would be used. I also found in the September quarter a Frederick Taylor died aged 46 in Birmingham. Where is Birmingham.? I'm in Australia so i guess i have got a lot of work to do in terms of where are these places. Georgina, Thomas and Rosina are Amy and Fredericks children. They had 11 altogether but i've only found 8. My grandfather is one of them, he is still alive at 84. I really want to do this for him. I'm still looking for their first child Frederick, who died in infancy. Their second child John who married a woman named Gladys. They had one child and all died of TB. The 10th child was named Roger and he died at around 2 years of age. Thankyou so much everyone, I'm new to this, so your help is much appreciated, Kerrie

Kerrie, you need to buy their marriage certificate to move on - that will give both fathers names and you can then trace them in te 1901 and go backwards through census and certs. You have kindly been given the reference above I believe and where to buy it - send off for the cert and then you will have solid facts to work from.

Kerrie if you get their marriage certificate it will confirm their fathers names & occupations, then maybe you can confirm Amy on the 1901 census... I looked at the Complete Index of bmds on ancestry uk, but cannot find a death for a Frederick Francis (or Francis Frederick!) ....... but there were these two Fredericks of about the right age, dying in the London area. March quarter 1933:- Frederick Taylor, age 47, London C, 1c 6 Frederick Taylor, age 47, St Olave, 1d 169

This could be Frederick's birth registration. Order this and it will tell you the names of his parents, and his mother's maiden name, as well as the address where he was born and where they lived. For their births and possible marriage. This is what i know: Amy Blake b. 9/3/1888 d. 22/3/1974 Death certificate states that place of birth was Eridge, Kent. But for some reason the box that asks for maiden surname has been crossed out? unsure as to why. Now i looked her up on the 1901 census but i have no idea if it is her as i don't know what her parents names are. At time of death she was living at mitcham rd, Croydon. She had 11 children. All i know about my great grandfather is this: Frederick Francis Taylor b.3/12/1886 d.3/2/1933 He was a jack of all trades. He served in the infantry during WW1. He died from T.B in a sanatorium, not sure which one maybe one that was called Cheam Sanatorium, but like i said i'm unsure. Possibly had a brother named Albert. Had a sister named Anne married named Blythe, who lived to be 100. She was in the Croydon Advertiser because of this, but i am unable to get a copy of this. To be honest i have no idea how to. The weird thing is that on Amy's death certifcate it has his name as John Taylor. Not sure if they are the same person, if he changed his name or what, but i am pretty much stuck. Have no idea if they were even married. My grandfather seems to think it was around 1905, but still unsure. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kerrie
