Find Ancestors

Hi All, I'm trying to find any info about Amelia Hawkins b.1877, Lesbourne Lands, Reigate. I can trace her upto 1891 Census were she was living with her grandparents in Reigate, but after that the trail goes cold. Has anyone got any idea's of how I can trace her? I would love to know if she married or had children. Thank you so much to all, I like the Avery marriage, seems possible. I shall continue on my quest. Again, so appriciate all the help. Sandra

Well, lots of Amelia Hawkins marrying between 1891-1901, cant see one in Reigate though - so its a bit difficult to know which could be her.

You could do a blanket search on the 1901 census for ALL Amelias born same year and same place (just using her first name) and hopefully cut down the options for married surnames and then look for the hubbys name on the freebmd marriages?

I couldn't find anything doing it that way

I saw that marriage, completely wrong area, George was born Islington if I remember rightly. (Bit odd though) Angela

Sandra There is no Amelia Hawkins listed marrying in the same quarter as George, I'm now thinking along the lines that Amelia Hawkins married a Miller, who then died, & she re-married. (Please forgive me, I'm like a dog with a bone here!) :-)) Angela

I agree with Angela on this....it looks promising and thats the exact thing that happened to one of my grandmothers and it took me ages to twig. Sheila

Sorry to spoil things but there was an Amelia Miller born in the Reigate area in JAS 1875 which would make her exactly the right age to be Amelia Avery..
