Another thought, personally I would contact the Hampshire records office. They guy there is very helpful and they don't charge for the odd search. I emailed him via their website, forgotten what it is. Regards

Trawling through the quarters is indeed tedious. Rather than starting 15 years after she was born, try about 20 years after. This might not have been her first child. Do about 5 years after, then go back a couple. Another 5 years after, then back another couple. Of course, if I knew how to calculate probabilities I might be more scientific! I don't know if everyone else is the same, but if you use the back button at the top left of the screen when you have checked a quarter, it slightly highlights which quarter you have just looked at, so you can click the next. It is infuriating to find yourself viewing what you have just viewed! You will also find that if you increase the size to 100% it will apply to all future screens and is generally easier to read. Another hint, while you are on the page, note down any other births which might be relatives. Saves you trawling through again when you want to find a sibling. And another hint, having looked for, in my case, Crossley, scroll down a bit and look at Crowley as well - might have been mis-spelt. Or Whittaker and Whitaker.

Access to the Complete Index of UK bmds on ancestry uk is FREE, so it is not as if you have to pay a subscription to be able to do it. Now, this by no means indicates that I am not willing to help you in other ways! Especially on sites where I have a subscription and you don't ................... but I do find trawling through the Index tiresome!

Gary, You are going to have to search the Complete Index on ancestry uk quarter by quarter year by year starting about 15 or so years after she was born. Yes, it's tedious BUT there is NO easier way!! It's unfair to ask other people to undertake such a task. Sylvia
