Hi Kim From the WWII Nominal Roll, Harold Gordon MacMurray Brown was a Flight Lt in the Royal Aust Air Force. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross. His next of kin is listed as Judith BROWN, assume this was his wife. He enlisted in Brisbane 26 Apr 1941 and was discharged 21 Jan 1946. You can request a certificate or a copy of his record from the National Archives. Go to http://www*ww2roll*gov*au Cheers Cherilyn

I was only able to check 1915 -1919 but I found these 2 whose parents were Gordon Brown & Beatrice Agnes Hinchsliff. Gladys Mabel MacMurray Brown 21 May 1916 Ref: 1916/006751 Harold Gordon MacMurray Brown 29 August 1919 Ref: 1919/B056885 (The B stands for Brisbane so assuming Gladys was born outside of Brisbane.) In the 1913 Electoral Roll I found: Beatrice Agnes Hinchsliff Cloyna, Murgon Home duties living with William Henry Hinchsliff Cloyna, Murgon Engineer & Agnes Hinchsliff Cloyna, Murgon Home duties I couldn't find a Gordon Brown in the nearby area. Murgon is about 215km to the north-west of Brisbane. Cloyna is a further 23 kms north-west of Murgon.

Queensland BDMs up to 1914 are on-line, but later ones are only on microfiche - I will go to the library later today or tomorrow am, and have a look for you - unless someone else has a CD rom they can access at home. Get back to you soon DI

Hi there, If any of the Australian GR members are at a loose end - or could do some research in return for UK look ups, that would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to contact the QLD archives and family history societies, with little success. So far (with past help) I've got that beatrice Agnes Hinchsliff, born 1888 married Gordon Brown, born 1885, in 21st December 1914. (Also in QLD) I know from Gordon Browns biography that they had children - he was a politician - but I'm trying to find out who those children were and who they married. Any help would be greatly appreciated and reciprocated!!! Kim McBirnie
