Do you have all of the information about Christopher and his family in Utah? (Census, cemetery, draft registration, etc.)

Hello Lisa Thank you for doing that for me. I guess she could have had a nickname although I would just be guessing at this stage as I have no evidence. The Morman CD doesn’t give a Josh at all but it does give Isabella, aged 16 on the same date and ship but it lists origin as Dundee rather than just Scotland. Maybe they knew something I didn’t! FERGUSON, Isabella <1863> Arizona 1879 Age: 16 Origin: Dundee Note: BMR, p.199; Destination: Provo (BMR) Looks like I need to dig up a bit more on this family before I can find my answers. Thanks again Kate :-)

Hi Alison and Jim Alison, thank you. What an interesting site. Did you see that on the return trip from dropping my rellies off in New York the Arizona hit an iceberg? ‘1879 Nov. 7, on homeward voyage New York - Liverpool, ran full speed into a huge iceberg, proceeded to St. John's for repairs with her bow completely smashed up almost to the collision bulkhead’ Jim, thank you so much for checking. I know it’s poor quality but do you think the Josh Armstrong could actually read Isabella as that is the transcription given on the Morman CD and it ties in with family details I already know? There is no Josh on the CD. If it does and there are no other Ferguson’s then it looks as though Ann Ferguson sent two of her children over to Utah with their Grandmother, travelling separately herself, either before or after. The date of birth for Euphemia says 1819 but all of my other evidence (Scotish Old Parish Records) indicates she was actually born in 1801 making her nearly 80 when she made this journey. Tough old bird! Thank you both again for taking time out to help me. Kate :-)

Hi I haven't been able to find the passenger list for you, but I can tell you that May 31st 1879 was Arizona's maiden voyage. Liverpool to Queenstown to New York. More info and a picture here http://www.norwayheritage.com/p_ship.asp?sh=arizo Regards Alison

Hello Reg I have Euphemia Armstrong in the 1880 US census living with another daughter and her husband - Richard Money and Margaret Armstrong Money but I haven't got Ann and family at the moment and I haven't got access to the USA records on Ancestry at the moment, just the UK. Euphemia was in Utah by this stage. I have death certificates from the Utah Archive site for the family I want and these lead me to believe the family all went over within a few years of each other if not at the same time. Thanks for the suggestion though. Kate :-)

Ah, sadly the Ellis Island site seems to start at 1892. A little late for me. :-( Kate

Please could someone with access to the images of US passenger lists check an image for me? The details are below: SHIP: ARIZONA DATE: OCT 1879 LIVERPOOL - NEW YORK I have checked the Morman Immigration CD and found on the transcription of the passenger list: Euphemia Armstrong (the grandmother) Isabella Ferguson Robert Ferguson but I would also have hoped to see: Ann Ferguson (nee Armstrong) - mother to Isabella and Robert Christopher Armstrong Ferguson - another son John Ferguson - husband to Ann but possibly already dead by this time. I know that Ann and Christopher definitely ended up in Utah but I'm not sure about John. I would be very grateful if someone could check the image, just in case my missing family members have been missed from the transcription. Many thanks Kate
