Sorry, we arent doing very well on this one are we. There is another girl right name and age at a Blue Coat school in Liverpool (children of poor). Where is she living on later census - just Manchester for all of them? Trouble is, there are many many churches in Middlesex and youd need to narrow down the area to look for the baptism. Cant see one on IGI.

Fathers name was Thomas Jones husband was James Booth i don't have acess to 1841 ...just wondered where i would look for Eleanors parish record [bapt] thanks for trying Lynn

Right, well bless nan, but dont always believe family stories! It sounds likely he was soldiering in London aswell but I cant see an Eleanor Jones with father Thomas baptised Middx on the familysearch site. It may be you will have to go forward on dads military records? And take it Eleanors census records never say more than Middx? Ah, you say 'London'? not Middx? And can you not find them together in Lancs in 1841?

Sorry Dads occ on cert.... fathers place of birth came through a bit of family history from my nan who is no longer alive he was def born Wales though and it is poss he was in Lancashire for the 1841 as Eleanor married in 1845 i do not have her on any census as a single person and then after marriage just London ..thanks

It actually gives dads place of birth on a marriage cert?? Does any census give a more specific place of birth for her? Its a common name.

Lynn, have you tried to find his baptism on www.familysearch.org? If not on there, will have to check parish records.

Thanks for the offer ..this is my info my 3x gt grandmother was Eleanor Jones born 1827 Middlesex London ..she married James Booth in Manchester in 1845 they lived in Blakley on her marriage cert her father is given as Thomas Jones occ soldier born Wales any help would be great as i am at another brick wall!!
