Hi all, can anyone who subscribes to find my past help me out please. I'm looking for my graddad Robert Carruthers born 1883 in Durham but was brought up in Manchester, who was in Canada in 1911 -1813 for definate as I have some postcards he sent home that still have the dates on. He was back in the UK in 1915 as he got married to his first wife. What I would like to know is who he travelled with if anyone and any details that might be listed on the passenger lists. I have trawled Ancestry and not been able to find anything on him but I think I have found him on fmp sailing from Liverpool to Montreal in 1910. Any help much appreciated Jelly |

Hi Maureen, thanks for looking for me, but I can't tie in any of these people into my tree. I t looks like its back to the drawing board. Roberts dates on both his marriage certificates and death certificate don't tie up so I would expect it not to tie in on the passenger list but I think it might be too far out on this one. Thanks once again for your help. Kind regards Jelly |

The trouble with trying to find people on the passenger lists is that quite often no christian name is given. Sometimes just a first initial which makes searching for the correct one very hard. Good luck Maureen |

He should be on the 1911 Canadian census but I can't find him there. |

Post cards sent back from Canada were from Collingwood Ontario dated 1911 and 1913. I too can't find him on the 1911 census, so where was he hiding. I believe he went out looking for work although he was a boiler maker I have been told that he did some work in the building trade. Jelly |
