Find Ancestors

In 1861 I've got Thomas Swain b 1840 in St Albans with his sister Mary Swain b 1847 they have a Sarah Day with them. All good.Thomas was born Totteridge, Herts and Mary born Harpenden. Also in 1861 can anyone find John and Richard Swain, brothers born 1845 and 1849. (I'm guessing probably Harpenden as thay are brothers of Thomas and Mary) It looks like their parents both died in 1859 and I wondering what happened to them after that. Thanks Louise

Hi Julie your right on both I think in 1851 John and Emma are both alive with children Thomas, John, Mary and Richard. By 1861 both parents are dead John and Richard are living with William Swain and family who I presume are an Uncle and Aunt? (Does it say what John and Richards relationship to head is?) I notice they have a daughter Mary Ann the same age as John. Thomas and Mary are with a maternal Aunt-Sarah Day

...And looks like i might have found a marriage for Mary as well! 3Q 1871 Mary Sswain marries either William Hayes or Alfred Alderslade. Not sure what happened to Richard,maybe he emmigrated as it doesn't look like he died at least not locally. Ta for Johns marriage, fairly sure its them.
