Gail if her husband was Arthur then her name was Elizabeth Ann Ballard... Oh yes, it could be as Ann's mother was named Elizabeth. On the 1881 census Ann is named as a Smallwood and listed as a widow living with her mother Elizabeth Ballard. Her baby Joseph a few months old. Can you find her in 1891 with Joseph? Thank you, Gail

Gail the only Joseph Smallwood born about 1880 is the one I posted above, there are quite a few marriages for Ann Smallwood & Elizabeth Smallwood's between 1881-1891 so it is hard to find her in 1891, she has probably remarried & Joseph has taken his step-fathers name. Georgina.
