I have been trying to trace the father of Shirley Bailey born 1935 Sandhurst. I have got her birth certificate but the father name is left blank. I have only just discovered this as i believed her father to be Edwin A D Beeching as this is the father to her brother's. Does anyone know how i could trace her father?

If the father's name is not on the birth cert, you are unlikely ever to find out who he was..........unless the child's mother sued him for maintenance. Reg

If she married and knew the identity of her father, he might be named on her marriage certificate. If the parent's were unmarried and the father was not at the registration, he could not be named on the birth certificate but there is no restriction on a later marriage certificate...I think. Gwyn
