Hi All, Thankyou for your help I have found Samuel in prison in 1861, But I cannot find him in 1851, I have checked my records and he seems to be elusive to the end. Many thanks for all your help. Pat.

Don't know if he's yours, but on the 1861 census there is a married Sam Baldwin, aged 35, a plasterer born St Mary De Lode, who is in the District County Prison. Kath. x

That's the only one I can see Georgina. There is a John and Charlotte Baldwin, born St Mary De Lode on the 1851 census in Gloucestershire, but that's all I can find. Can you give us the reference for the census page you have found Patricia? Kath. x

Hello Reg, I have tried Ancestry and cannot find a marriage for them. I know she had a child in the workhouse in 1847, and in 1851 census sarah is married to Samuel Baldwin and they have a son. Many thanks for your help. Pat

You need to widen your search. Just because the census says they were married it doesn't mean they definitely were. They may have married years after the children were born or they may never have married. Kath. x
