I am trying to find the parents and birth date of John Adams born possibly in Fordcombe Kent he is the father of George Henry Adams born 1849 in fordcombe, on George's marriage certificate he down as a 'Smith' working in Fordcome can any one help please. Suex

It may be easier to locate George in one of the census years and work back. When did he marry? Wife's name? From that information it might be possible to see where George says he was born and track him from 1881 back. Pete

Unless you have found father and son together on a census, you may have to consider the possibillity that George was illegitimate. 1851 census does not show any results for George born 1849 +/-1 in Kent whose father's name is John. If you could supply more details, it would be helpful...........the location of Fordcombe would be a start. Reg

Reggie all I have is George Henry's marriage certificate on that it says george Henry adams married Eliza jane De Meza George is down as a Labourer Residence at time of marriage Fordcombe Kent Father John Smith Trade Smith witnesses to marriage John DeMeza and Sarah Elizabeth Demezamarried after Banns both are from Forcombe in Kent.
