Thank you for that suggestion! I've only just spotted it having been out all afternoon. That's a good idea. Best wishes Sue

There is a One Name Study for the CAVE surname. To be registered with them the researcher must have all GRO entries of that surname and is obliged to share information. It might be worth contacting the researcher to see if he has notes on Winifred. http://www.one-name.org/cgibin/search.cgi?find=25 Gwyn

Thanks Reg I don't use ancestry very often and had forgotten that the recent records were free to trawl. Well I've just had a good look and I can't see the Winifred. Can't see a birth or marriage and the only possible death looks like one in Leicestershire. Ah well.......I'll let my friend know that I don't think this particular cousin survived. Best wishes Sue

The only way to learn if Winifred married is to trawl the marriage index. It is free on Ancestry. No point looking for a death until the correct surname is ascertained Reg

Hello I wonder if anyone can help please? A friend of mine has lost a cousin! Winifred E Cave was born in 1913 and the story goes that her mother Edith (nee Culliford) died in childbirth. Edith Culliford married William Cave in 1910 in Bedwelty. I wonder if anyone has access to relatively recent records and knows if Winifred either died or perhaps survived and grew up to marry and perhaps have descendants. I have done a check on GR search and no-one appears to have her on their tree. Many thanks Sue
