Hi For the most recent deaths, one of the DPS's has been indexing death notices in our papers for several years. So if your cousin and his wife had published notices of death, they should be listed. I found only one John Anderson in Brisbane (dod 2000), but none for Heather (that only means they may not have published one). If you go to the website 'The Ryerson Index' http://www.rootsweb*com/~nswsdps/dpsindex.htm you can check for the date of publication, and if you scroll down on the first page, 'ask for a lookup' a very kind DPS member will find the notice for you. With luck, it might be yours- they usually list next of kin. Diane

To all of you who kindly replied to be question - THANK YOU I have been searching in England for my cousin born 1932 for a number of years and I have finally discovered that he married and emigrated to Brisbane in the 1970's and he and his wife died there. I would very much like to know when he died and to also to locate his children. My cousin was called John Alexander born the 2nd quarter of 1932 in Southampton. When he emigrated to Brisbane I am told that he had a wife called Heather and two sons Geoffrey & Graham and a daughter called Theresa. I have nothing else ages or date wise. Any help or advice will be very, very much appreciated from Sheila

Hi Sheila, There are some REALLY helpful people on this board who offer Aussie look-ups. For Brisbane you will need the State of Queensland look-up (QLD). Be patient waiting for a reply though as the time difference is large!! Also, if you type Australia or QLD in the 'Search' box it will bring up all the old threads that contain those words. Hope this helps! Paula
