Can anyone please check for the baptism of Charles William Jones in Sherborne in 1892. I believe he was a base born son of a Jones daughter, though he is shown as Charles Davis/Davies in 1901. The GRO has no Charles Davis/Davies but does have Charles William Jones registered Mar Q 1892, so he may well have been baptised later than this. Mnay thanks if you can help. Wendy |

if he truly was a Jones, why would granny list him as a Davis in 1901? (he appears as a grandson) |

Perhaps the daughter later married the father? i will see if I can find a possible marriage. It's puzzling that i can't find the birth of a suitable Charles Davis which is why I thought a baptism might be helpful. Thanks for your reply. |
